Yogic & Saatvik Diet
The Yogic and Saatvik diet consists of pure, vegetarian food freshly
prepared with love, care and warmth. This diet encourages a healthy,
balanced life style by inculcating the five principles of Yoga
exercise; breathing; relaxation; positive thinking and meditation along
with a nourishing, light and fresh diet. Saatvik food is pure, clean
and wholesome. This diet gives us life, strength, energy, courage and
self-determination. If we want to keep our mind calm, quiet and
maintain our alertness to explore the natural surrounding around us, we
need to follow the Saatvik diet; which in turn lets the light of wisdom
shine through every gate of the body.
The Yogic and Saatvik diet comprise the foods which increase life, purity, strength, health, joy and cheerfulness, that are substantial and loved by Saatvik people. In other word Saatvik diet is directly proportional to personality.
The Saatvik diet promotes peaceful and clear mind, As thing that are similar in nature resemble one and other, the foods that make up Saatvik and yogic are themselves peaceful (non-stimulating) and clear (free from impurities). Saatvik foods are generally based on the ancient principals of Ayurveda and are prepared according to simple, traditional methods. Many modern methods of food preparations have ill effects on the food prepared, which make them Rajasik and Tamasik and deteriorate health.
The Saatvik diet emphasizes on whole organically grown foods that are raw or freshly cooked (not micro-waved), as well as raw cooked or lacto fermented foods, such foods that you have personally grown them and therefore strength then your alignment with your natural environment. This diet is predominantly a lacto vegetarian that highly values dairy but avoids other animal products including eggs, fist, meat and poultry. A Saatvik or spiritual diet excludes artificial food processing and altering of raw food as much as possible.
